On 11 September 2025, Glasgow College, UESTC and Glasgow College Hainan, UESTC conducted a combined online and in-person pre-departure training session for the 2023 cohort of students preparing to undertake the 2+2 long-term study programme at the University of Glasgow.

This training programme aims to standardise the management of students undertaking extended periods abroad, enhance their awareness of safety during study visits and their sense of responsibility, and assist them in adapting more swiftly to new environments. Participants include relevant staff from the international exchange, academic administration, and student affairs departments of both colleges, alongside University of Glasgow personnel based in Chengdu and Hainan responsible for student support.
The training programme covers the study abroad process, general requirements, safety reminders, material preparation and key considerations. Staff from various departments provided detailed explanations on departure procedures, scholarship applications, credit recognition and the student support system. This helped students systematically grasp relevant processes, clarify potential issues and understand how to address them, thereby laying a solid foundation for their studies and life in the UK.
