University of Electronic Science and Technology Glasgow College Hainan is a joint program of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China

(211, 985, double first-class university) and University of Glasgow (QS World University Ranking No. 76 in 2024), which was established in April 2022 by

the Ministry of Education on the basis of ten years' successful experience of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools and in response to the

national strategy of serving the demand for the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port. Approved by the Ministry of Education in April 2022, it is a

secondary teaching and research unit of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.

According to the development plan of the college, we are now looking for talent at home and abroad, and the related matters are announced as follows:

I. Job Requirements

1. Master's degree or above in English Language and Literature or related majors;

2. Have the certificate of English grade 8;

3. Excellent results in IELTS, TOEFL, and other language exams, intermediate and advanced English interpretation certificate or equivalent qualifications

are preferred;

4. International English teaching certificates such as TEFL, CELTA, DELTA, etc. are preferred;

5. Strong teaching ability, with IELTS, TOEFL and other English standardized test preparation course teaching experience or college English language

teaching experience is preferred;

6. Work resident in Lingshui Li'an International Education Innovation Pilot Zone in Hainan, and be able to accept semester exchange to Chengdu

headquarters (University of Electronic Science and Technology of Qingshuihe Campus) to carry out training, teaching and exchanges;

7. No one who has a criminal record, has been dismissed from public office, or is suspected of violating discipline or law under investigation is allowed to apply 

for the position.

1. This position is a secondary unit of appointed personnel, salary negotiable, appointment and management in accordance with the “University of Electronic Science and Technology on-campus secondary unit of the management of personnel,” the implementation of the five insurance, one gold and other guarantees, the College to provide teachers with apartments, and bear the corresponding costs.

2. The College provides professional induction training and teaching adaptation training for the teachers. At the same time, the teachers have the

   opportunity to train and teach in Chengdu Campus.

3. The College provides regular training for in-service teachers for the Cambridge University Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults

(CELTA) according to the development of teachers. In addition, the Language Support Center holds a Teacher Professional Development Week

   every semester to organize and arrange relevant knowledge and skills training oriented to teachers' needs in order to improve their professionalism

and teaching level.

4. The College provides opportunities for outstanding teachers to go to the University of Glasgow in the UK for training and study in order to expand their

horizons and improve their standards.

5. Taking the construction of new engineering disciplines as an opportunity, the College provides abundant teaching, teaching research and teaching

reform opportunities through the platform of Chinese-foreign cooperative education and training system.

English Teacher Team Introduction:

The Language Support Centre is responsible for teaching academic and engineering English to engineering students in the context of Sino-foreign

cooperation, English teaching reform and research, guidance for studying abroad, and translation support. The team has 35 members (including 10

foreign teachers), all of whom hold international English teaching certificates such as CELTA and TEFL. Based on the English learning and

communication needs of international engineering talents, the team has developed a diversified, multi-level and progressive engineering English

course system for students through cross-country and interdisciplinary collaboration. Two courses were evaluated as first-class undergraduate courses

at the provincial offline level, and one course was awarded the first batch of benchmarking demonstration courses and demonstration courses of

ideology and politics construction at the university level. Three provincial and five university-level teaching reform projects have been approved, and

two university-level planning textbooks have been published. Team members have won many national, provincial and university-level teaching

competitions. The results of the course construction won the third prize of the University Teaching Achievement Award. The team was awarded

‘Advanced Team of International Cooperation and International Education of Chengdu University’ for its important contribution to the cultivation of

international talents and engineering education of the university.
