Academic Planning Support

To encourage students to become active learners and provide guidance and services in both their life and academic studies, JEI Program has set up the Academic Planning and Support Center.

Comprised of excellent Party members, National Scholarship winners, College Academic Scholarship winners and high-achieving students, the Peer Consulting Group hold regular salons, lectures, and activities on pre-exam tutoring, experience sharing, and peer-to-peer classes. They also provide one-on-one counseling monthly, course Q&A, revision, and discussions on learning methods.

Dozens of “peer counselors” with different strengths and from different grades can almost cover all core courses and lectures and satisfy the appointment demands. With the guidance and help of outstanding senior peers, our students can not only review and learn knowledge, but also improve their ability of autonomous learning, and create a better environment for learning.

Mental Wellbeing Support

The Mental Health Centre (MHC) of our JEI Program aims to build a well-structured and focused psychological counselling system supported by professional consultants and student counsellors. Members of Green Field Student Mental Health Team and class representatives jointly carry out various forms of student activities which focus on psychological counselling and crisis prevention to popularize knowledge about mental health.

The MHC mainly provides activities such as Sand Tray Therapy, team building, and psychological counselling salons for students. The MHC also invites professional consultants from UESTC Mental Health Centre to have one-on-one appointments at Glasgow College every Tuesday. They spend time with individual students and offer advice to help students relieve distress and get through crises.

Study abroad Support

The Study Abroad Guidance Centre is part of the Student Development Guidance Centre of Our JEI Program, aiming to explore the establishment of the whole process of the study abroad guidance system in the four years of college and to improve the quality of students' further study abroad. The Centre focuses on building a professional study abroad guidance team, collecting and integrating the most effective study abroad information, building a communication platform for students to study abroad, providing comprehensive, professional, and systematic guidance and services for students to study abroad, and helping students to achieve their dreams of studying abroad.

At present, the center has 2 full-time staff, 5 students in the study abroad consulting team, 10 students in the paperwork guidance team, and 14 students in the Pilot Study Abroad Club. In terms of guidance on study abroad planning, the center offers the elective course ‘Study Abroad Planning and Guidance’ for all students, carries out ‘one-to-one’ study abroad consultation, holds regular study abroad consultation and exchange meetings every year, and carries out lectures on study abroad planning by experts, teachers and peers at different levels. In terms of guidance on study abroad documents, the Centre provides ‘one-to-one’ guidance on writing study abroad documents, a series of lectures, and workshops on writing documents to help students explore their highlights and personalize their study abroad documents. At present, the Centre has already formed such characteristic activities as the private meeting of the College, study abroad salon, paperwork workshop, face-to-face meeting with admissions officers, adaptation to study abroad, alumni salon, and Hello World.
