The 17th China University Student Computer Design Competition 2024: 2 national third prizes, 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, and 2 third prizes in Hainan Province.
From August 8 to August 16, the national finals of the “Internet of Things Application” and “Artificial Intelligence Application” tracks of the 17th China University Computer Design Competition (CUCDC) 2024 were held in Xiamen Polytechnic Institute and Southeast University respectively. There were many teams participating in the related competitions, among which 314 colleges and universities, 1435 teachers and students, and 455 examples were involved in the final evaluation of the “Artificial Intelligence Application” track alone. The students of our academy were outstanding and stood out from the crowd, winning the third prize at the national level in both tracks. In the previous Hainan Provincial Competition, our students won 1 first prize, 2 second prizes and 2 third prizes in the Hainan Provincial Competition, laying a good foundation for advancing to the National Competition.

From July 29 to August 1, 2024, the National Student Electronic Design Competition (Hainan Region STC Cup) and the Analog Electronic System Design Thematic Competition Selection Competition commenced. To provide student engagement and enhance the test area's reputation within Hainan's higher education sphere, our institution provided robust support, including facility improvements and the assignment of dedicated faculty. This marked the inaugural utilization of our test area as the official venue for these competitions. Our college fielded 8 student teams, which, after an intensive 4-day competition, concluded successfully within our public laboratory building, securing 1 first-place, 1 second-place, and multiple third-place awards in the provincial standings.
The Seventh National Embedded Chip and System Design Competition for College Students in Southwest China: 2 Second Prizes and 2 Third Prizes in Southwest China
On July 23rd-24th, the 7th National Embedded Chip and System Design Competition for College Students in Southwest Region was held in University of Electronic Science and Technology (UEST) Qingshuihe Campus, with 187 teams from 38 colleges and universities in Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Guizhou and other provinces and cities, and more than 500 people defending their work through the demonstration of offline physical examples. Our students actively prepare for the battle, the college actively coordinates and supports students to go to Qingshuihe Campus to exchange, and finally our students won the second prize of the competition area 2, the third prize of the 2 outstanding results.
2024 China University Computer Competition - Mobile Application Innovation Competition in Hainan Province: 2 Third Prizes in Hainan Province
On June 15-16, 2024 China University Computer Competition - Mobile Application Innovation Competition and Cross-Strait Innovative Works Competition of Hainan Province was held in Haikou, which attracted more than 800 teachers and students from 28 universities in Hainan to participate in the competition with more than 200 projects, and the participating examples involved mobile applications, artificial intelligence, information security, algorithm design, language recognition, big data, image processing, virtual reality, 3D visualization applications, game design, animation creative design, etc. After evaluation, our students won two provincial third prizes.
It is not easy for the college to achieve the above results when there are only 240 students in the freshman and sophomore years. In the future, the college will learn from the experience of the summer academic competitions, further increase the support, invite more professional teacher teams, increase the construction of laboratory platforms. It will carry out regular training activities and further select and focus on the advantageous science and innovation activities, to provide students with a better platform for learning and practicing.
