The 808th Learning to Learn: Dr. Duncan’s workshop
On May 18th, Dr. Duncan’s workshop of the 808th Learning to Learn was held, as scheduled.
Duncan, the Executive Vice Dean and teacher of Electronic System Design, was invited to answer questions collected from students face-to-face in this workshop. These questions ranged from the details of teaching to difficulties they have faced with, and Dr. Duncan gave detailed answers to these questions.
At the beginning, Mr. Duncan answered the question of having too many English courses and emphasized the significance of language learning. He mentioned that English proficiency was important not only in daily life, but also in employment and work advancement. Therefore, studying English in college would lay a firm foundation for future development.
Afterward, Mr. Duncan asked students to share their understanding to engineering and then shared his own perspective on it. He also highlighted the significant role that engineers play in the development of the modern world.
Subsequently, Duncan explained each of the different courses of the UofG side, including the rationale of the courses and their importance.In the end, Duncan stated that if students had any questions regarding the teaching of UofG courses, they were welcomed to contact the teachers at any time. Meanwhile, he also expressed his earnest expectation for the students.
Through this workshop, students had a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of the UofG courses, and they also had a more systematic plan and a specific goal for their study.
