You will also be expected to cover some office hours to support students. The candidate must have good knowledge of embedded C programming and STM32 microcontrollers.

You are also required to have good English especially listening and speaking skills. Any experience in a similar role will be advantage but not required.

  • Embedded Processors:

a) Good experience in C/embedded C programming;

b) Previous experience in working with and mastering the embedded platform is necessary and experience with other platforms is a plus;

c) GTA can demonstrate they have good hands on/practical experience with embedded systems (basic interfacing techniques required for the UESTCHN 2004 course)

d) Good command of the English language to communicate well with students and the lecturers.

  • Power Electronics:

The candidate should have hand-on power electronics background and skills. Good English is required.

  • Dynamics and Control:

The GTAs are expected to support his course in the delivery of the lab (incl. preparation before session, connecting with students and clarify the doubts of students)

a) Graduate in EEE or Automation Engineering (at minimum to be in Y4 of the EEE programme at Glasgow College);

b) Taught or took courses in Analogue Control Engineering;

c) Good background in Calculus - this module will explore feedback theory, Laplace transforms, PID controllers, Bode plots and Nyquist plots;

d) Knowledge of dynamics - first, second and higher orders - transient and frequency responses.

In addition, it would be a plus if you:

a) Have knowledge in electronics

b) Have a good working understanding of Matlab

  • Communications Circuit Design:

This is a new course in Glasgow College Hainan UESTC aiming at exploring various components and

system blocks of communication circuits (filters, oscillators, amplifiers, PLLs, mixers). The candidates for GTAs should have previous experience

in working and teaching in lower-level analogue electronic courses, and be a graduate or close to graduate in a related electronic engineering discipline.

Good knowledge of English is also required.

The lab activities will most likely include a mix of simulations and experimental validation of electronic components and chips that represent different functional blocks

in simple communication systems.

  • Team Design Project and Skills:

The GTA must have previously completed the Team Design Project and Skills course and be committed to supporting the course throughout the semester.

This includes assisting students during the semester, as well as managing logistics for presentations and the final demonstration.
