Professor Ce Zhu, Dean of Glasgow College UESTC, has been elected as Optica Fellow for his ‘pioneering and sustained contributions to visual information coding and processing’.
Founded in 1916, Optica is the world’s leading international academic organization in the field of optics. In addition to the field of optics and photonics, it also provides high-caliber information services for experts and scholars in physics, biology, medicine, electrical engineering, communications, astronomy, meteorology, materials science, mechanical engineering and computing, etc. Fellow is the highest academic honor bestowed upon experts in this field by Optica. As Fellows can account for no more than 10 percent of the total membership, the election process is highly competitive.
