UC Riverside Assistant Provost Wang Jun and Delegation Visited UESTC
On the morning of April 18, a delegation of the University of California, Riverside (UCR), led by Wang Jun, Assistant Provost for strategic initiatives and international recruitment, paid a visit to UESTC for international cooperation. Luo Guangchun, Vice President of UESTC, met the guests at the Qingshuihe Campus. The two sides had in-depth communication on student exchanges, joint doctorate programs, young teacher visiting and exchanges, and some other issues. Also present at the meeting were Di Aiying, Head of Administration of Glasgow College, Gao Shiquan, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and relevant staff.
Luo Guangchun welcomed the visit of Wang Jun and the delegation. He introduced to the guests UESTC’s student development, operation characteristics, outstanding disciplines, international cooperation and exchanges, etc. Mentioning that both universities have been collaborating for many years, Luo hoped the two sides would continue to deepen cooperation in areas such as student exchanges, faculty member exchanges, and scientific research.
Wang Jun appreciated UESTC for the warm reception. Viewing UESTC as a very important partner of UCR, he noted that the two universities share similar disciplinary features, and have achieved remarkable results in teaching personnel exchanges, student development, and other aspects of collaboration. Wang hoped that the two universities would work together to further deepen and broaden the scope of cooperation.
Gao Shiquan presented in detail the exchanges programs for teaching staff and student body between both universities. The two sides then had thorough discussions on such topics as student communication and exchanges, joint doctorate programs, and young teacher visiting programs.
After the meeting, the guests visited the new office building of Glasgow College, and exchanged views with students.
