The Middle School Attached to Sichuan Normal University Came to Visit Our College

On the afternoon of March 15th, the Undergraduate Admissions Office of the Academic Affairs Department, in conjunction with other colleges, held a Campus Open Day event. Teachers and students from the Middle School Attached to Sichuan Normal University visited Qingshuihe Campus. Glasgow College organized a reception for more than 40 of the students, showing them around the campus and introducing them to the culture of UESTC.

Under the guidance of the volunteers, the students first visited the school library. The librarian explained the library’s history and its extensive collection at length and led a tour around the exhibits and facilities inside the library. This allows the students to appreciate the fine style of “learning in UESTC” under the strong academic atmosphere.

At the Electronic Technology Museum, the students gained a more intuitive understanding of electronics, communication, and computers. They browsed a multitude of precious collections inside the museum, explored the field of electronic information and admired its charm. This distinctive feature of electronic information highly deepened their understanding of UESTC.

The students then arrived at the new office building of Glasgow College, where Professor Xu Shizhong, Vice Dean of the college, gave a brief introduction to the university and the college's characteristics, and exchanged ideas with the students on the topic of "learning to learn". He encouraged everyone to cultivate the ability of transfer learning, to seek common ground, and to do self-research, feeling the charm of "being different". Professor Xu's humorous lecture style created a harmonious and relaxed atmosphere, and the students all listened attentively and actively interacted with him.

At the end of the trip, the students also visited the laboratory built by Glasgow College, learned about the use of various instruments and equipment, and experienced the appeal of scientific knowledge.

Through this Campus Open Day event, the teachers and students of Glasgow College conveyed a warm welcome to the visiting students from the Middle School Attached to Sichuan Normal University, answered various questions and doubts for them, and encouraged them to actively apply for UESTC and Glasgow college in the future.
